In 2020, the Finance Team started to provide monthly reports to the XRUK movement summarising its financial position. These are provided below in reverse chronological order:

As expected, a quiet period for income whilst regular overheads continue – leading to a reduction in free funds available. This is being carefully monitored through to April when further public fundraising is anticipated.

(The) assumed £40k/month income assumption remains valid but with further COVID19 lockdowns hitting the economy in early 2021, Finance will monitor closely, and the risk is that this assumption may need to be lowered over the coming weeks (for cashflow forecasting purposes).

In October, the Interim Budget Group (IBG) accepted a recommendation from Finance to establish a General Reserve being a multiple of 3 months of costs (or 1 month for Volunteer Living Expenses).

Income in September was £304,082 (a jump of 77%)…the result of strong one-off donations over the over the August Bank Holiday weekend and during September’s UK Rebellion as well as a significant restricted donation (£110,000).

Interim Budget Group established a budget for September Rebellion. Revenues of £172,281 are the highest since March 2020.

The XRUK deficit has fallen by c£42,000 from £154,191 at end-April to £111,952. (I)ncome in May of £63,737 was the lowest monthly income since January 2019.

XRUK’s income in April of £74,519 was the lowest monthly income since January 2019. In mid-April…decisions were taken to suspend volunteer living expenses after 17 April and limit all but essential spending.
